This is one of the last mechanical aircraft clock done. All this last aviation clocks uses movement by Valjoux , the 551 (a chronograph clock named (Type 11) and Valjoux 555 (a chronograph with flyback function named Type 12).
it was used by 4 brands Sinn, Breguet, Dodane and Mathey Tissot, and after this clock the next built was battery operated and electronic cockpit clock.
This Mathey Tissot Type 12 has 17 jewels and one barrel supplying power for one day, the flyback function allows to stop the chrono and start again not from cero from the previous recorded time. |
